Gradiance empowers you to design elegant gradient backgrounds that can be utilized as wallpapers for your macOS, iOS, and iPadOS devices. The entire screen becomes your canvas and with a simple click or tap you can show or hide the compact editor controls.
Creating a gradient is as easy as 1-2-3! Begin by setting the desired number of control points across the width and height of your screen. Gradiance automatically generates evenly spaced points and randomly assigns colors to each one.
Then, you can experiment and have fun selecting each control point you wish to modify, alter its color and opacity, and adjust its horizontal and vertical position to achieve visually appealing gradient effects.
Finally, when you have a gradient design you are happy with you can save it to a png file (on macOS) or export it to Photos to assign as your wallpaper. The image is automatically optimized for the size and resolution of your screen.
Gradiance is written in SwiftUI and has been meticulously crafted to provide an intuitive user-friendly interface. Its design prioritizes simplicity and compactness, ensuring minimal interference during the creation of gradient wallpapers. Users can effortlessly conceal the controls with a simple click or tap and adjust the position on the screen.
Consider setting a background color in the grid setup. This technique is particularly useful when you wish to move control points along the edges of your gradient inward. Additionally, you can utilize the opacity controls of the color picker while editing the point colors to seamlessly blend with the background color you select.
Experiment with moving the position of control points to intersect each other. This can result in intriguing gradient effects where the two colors converge.
If you create a compelling gradient design, consider modifying the point colors or, if you are utilizing the opacity controls, altering the background color to generate distinct variations for export. This technique can also be beneficial in creating versions of your wallpaper to accommodate both dark and light modes. (Incidentally, the Gradiance app supports dark mode)
If you are not happy with how a gradient is turning out and want to start over, you can simply adjust the number of control points across the width or height in the grid setup and Gradience will automatically generate a new gradient for you.
